The Mission: Finished Sockpaloooza socks by the deadline. Which, I seem to recollect is soon, very soon. The stakes are high, must get sock pal her first pair of handmade socks -- she gives hers away. A sad situation that must be remedied.
Tools: Koigu P524, the Simply Lovely Lace Socks from IK Spring 2006, Inox 6" DPN in Size 0 (2mm).
The Obstacles:
Other socks in progress. Martha (from last year, no picture) -- time to tackle that UFO pile again. Work. Construction. Life
I'm up to the challenge. Just take a gander at my recent sock knitting prowess:
A completed pair of Marietta Ribbed Socka Mexiko socks for Liz. And,
a pair of rainbow Regia Nation socks for myself. My first pair of toe up socks!! I'm liking the short row heel better in stockinette, it felt less fiddly than in garter, or, may just be that I'm more used to it now. I don't yet have the hang of getting a better fit going from toe up -- I'm not sure where to start the heel. There was some emergency surgery on the first sock to fix the fit. I'll try it again, but I may be a confirmed top-down sock knitter. Not that it matters, but it's interesting to learn something new about myself.
BTW, this blog will self destruct in 30 seconds.
Nah....

Ooh, I'd be more than happy to take that lovely Koigu off your hands to free you up some time. Just couldn't guarantee it would find its way to your sock pal ;)

I know I am having a hard time finishing my Simply Lovely Lace Socks...this is my first pair of lacey socks, and all those yarnovers on those teeny needles...it's really bugging me. That, and I knitted my first one on US1s, and the lace is pretty open. I just can't imagine really wearing these socks...Anyway, best of luck on finishing your sock pal socks.

Fun Nation!! Woo-hoo!
And those Mexico socks are great. But knit like the wind on your sockpal socks! The time approaches, but you can do it. I believe. :)

Oooh, I just lurve those citrus-colored stripey socks. Is that a Knitpicks yarn? I recall them having a sock yarn in that citrus-y colorway...anyway, I love it! (Love the pirate socks too - intarsia socks! I'm impressed!) :)

I love the socks in Koigu! Such a pretty colorway. Good luck with them, I'm sure you can get them finished. You do have some serious socks on the needles, but try to ignore them for a bit to get those Sockapal socks done and out of the way.

Hello sock pal :)
Been lurking for a while, but just thought I'd delurk to say hello, and that having seen your socks in progress pic I'm more reassured that I've chosen a combo of yarn and pattern that you'll like, which is great.
Just out of curiosity, how long did you make the foot of the socks before you started on the short row heel?
Keep up the good work on the socks - they're all very impressive and give me quite a high bar to aim for with the socks I'm knitting for you, but that's good - I like a challenge! :)
